Exploring Eastern Nevada | Early Spring
Sacramento Pass BLM Campground
I felt fortunate to find this campground completely empty the week before we entered Great Basin National Park. It was just off of highway 50 and accessible even with hazardous winter weather conditions. We ended up hunkering down here for 5 total nights waiting out some local winter storms.
Great Basin National Park is just 20 minutes away
One of the least visited National Parks in the nation right next to the loneliest highway. That information alone was the only thing I needed to know really before deciding I wanted to come here. My visit here this trip was brief, but needless to say this area exceeded my expectations and it left me looking forward to coming back for further exploration.
Lower Lehman Campground
I hunkered down for 2 nights inside the park. We had the campground to ourselves one night and shared it with just a few others the following night. I cant wait to see this place in optimal conditions for beauty.
Lehman Caves
This is an incredibly beautiful and unique cave system located inside of Great Basin National Park. I had the opportunity to take a guided tour of this cave system by one of the local cave experts. He was able to safely guide us through while providing plenty of dad joke humor and history. Would do again.
